The ease with with you can now transfer domains is maintaining downward pressure on domain registration prices and means that consumers no longer feel locked into a specific supplier. Yahoo! Small Business
Yahoo offer both domain registration and hosting packages. Big, stable and reasonable rates. In fact there rates are so good (sometimes) that we recently purchased 2 domains (www.bigwebfeat.com and www.bigwebfeet.com) through them, only $4.95 each for an annual registration. To top it off the process was extremely efficient, with registration completed and the domains active within 1 hour (very impressive). Well worth checking out particularly if they are running promotional discounts.

Netfirms Web Hosting for Small Business
A big player when it comes to domains and web hosting, with a specific focus on the small business market. They provide a range of packages including additional benefits such as Google Adwords coupons and have domain registration on offer from $4.95 (hard too beat). We have not used them but looking at what they offer and the 4.5 star rating from Alexa reviews (see the Site Info on the right) they deserve serious consideration.

GoDaddy
A real player in the domain registration market, if fact they proclaim that they are "#1 in domain name registration!". One of the new breed of Domain Registrars generating substantial growth through aggressive marketing supported by cut throat pricing. We have purchased a number of domains through GoDaddy and maintain them as our registrar, but recently the edge seems to have come of their domain pricing as they appear to be focusing on add-ons and up selling.

Seanic
Providing free domain registration with their hosting packages at rock bottom prices with a fair range of features. Do not provide high level domain management tools but if all you need is a domain (or 2) without online management features this provides pretty good value. While we do not currently use Seanic we have in the past (for both domain registration and web hosting) and were more than happy with their service, even when we decided to transfer to a different provider (offering multiple web hosting and additional features we found we required as our virtual world grew).
